– Common bugle – *Ajuga reptans*
– Hemp agrimony – *Eupatorium cannabinum*
– Cuckoo flower – *Cardamine pratensis*
– Creeping jenny – *Lysimachia nummularia*
– Purple loosestrife – *Lythrum salicaria*
– Water mint – *Mentha aquatica*
– Hard rush – *Juncus inflexus*
– Water plantain – *Alisma plantago-aquatica*
– Hornwort – *Ceratophyllum demersum*
– Water crowfoot – *Ranunculus aquatilis*

I also added ramshorn snails, pond skaters and diving beetles to kick the ecosystem off (already had a lot of mosquito larvae in there). Any advice appreciated!

You’ve just inspired me to do something similar in my back garden.
It’s a haven for loads of birds, squirrels and my hedgehogs so a little wildlife pond like this is such a great idea.
It looks great and will improve over time too.
Have a great weekend from a sunny N Wales.
