Wow i like them both! But I think because of the pool and patio being more formal design I would go with the Grand garden.
I have a pool backyard that is very similar in structure to this, thank you for all the inspiration! I have some neighborhood cats though so I am scared to plant nepeta 😅 I plan to do rosemary and lavender around the pool border.
I like garden #2! I live in Canada zone 3a (can go to -45c windchill -50c) so was going to say that no…boxwood does not survive lol. I always like a path that curves as it really does makes a yard seem bigger. This was nice of you to do and looking forward to the rendering!
When does the actual gardening take place?
#2 because of the curving path. Both of your shade gardens have inspired me to vamp up mine. I am really enjoying your videos. Thank you.
#2!!! 🎉
Two beautyful creations but i wote for the cottage garden🌾
Love both designs so much, Anna. 😍 The plant selections is absolutely gorgeous, as is both the idea of cloud pruned evergreens and the ethereal grasses. But I’m biased when it comes to winding paths, especially when both the house and garden are so square. Therefore my vote goes to the cottage garden. Another idea, and a beautiful way to further use your borrowed landscape, would be to extend the path, and let it end behind one of the cloud pruned yews, as if it were to continue beyond the borders of your garden. You could further emphasise this by leaning a decorative garden gate against the fence. Good luck with your garden 🙌 and thank you so much for all the inspo, Anna 🙏
I love both of these designs, but my heart and vote goes for the cottage style. This video inspires me to get out and create. I’m so glad I found you! I’m hooked.
Canada and US consider different factors when determining planting zones. If trying to compare, Canada’s zone 3a is more equivalent to US garden zone 2. I love cottage gardens and your plans are beautiful!
I like both ideas but would love to see what the cottage garden would look like!😍
Garden #2 ❤❤❤
The Cottage Garden design (#2) is a favorite of mine. I would enjoy seeing the design series continue … enjoy hearing what plant selections you suggest. ❤
Both designs are stunning but I love the idea of having more spaces to sit and view the garden and wildlife. Number 2 (cottage garden) is my favorite. Thank you for sharing all of your garden knowledge over these past few years. I have learned so much from you, Anna! Your gardens are absolutely gorgeous!
i would love your help! i live in a very protective woodland area in IL, and my house sits in the middle of the land. but i am having a hard time coming up with the design because i have lots of wet land and dry land. in the process of getting buckthorn removed because its taking over the land. further from my home i am only allowed to work with native plant. but i love the english cottage styles which can possibly be done with natives?
Both designs are beautiful, but I think the Cottage design (Design #2) is just so enchanting and would love to see a rendering on that one:)
I'm definitely in favor of the cottage garden.❤❤❤
I just moved into a new home and would loveeee for you to design my garden! I’m in Florida in zone 8/9 and have a fenced in backyard, two side yards and a huge front yard!
I'd love to see this series continue! I vote garden 2.
Both designs are beautiful! I am voting for #1 but it looks like the consensus is #2! 😆
Garden#2❤
I would also love to see a whimsical cottage garden with kid/cat/dog friendly plants incorporating lots of edible fruits and veggies for a sunny garden. 😍😍😍
I like garden #1
Garden 1! the symmetry goes better with the strong geometry of the house
Wow – Anna, both designs are stunning. I really don't know which one we will go with, but will definitely keep you posted! We are so inspired to begin. Thanks again!
I think garden 1 goes better with the house
Also, would love this as a series
Love the Cottage Garden!! ❤❤❤
both are gorgeous
I would vote for the Cottage Garden. However, not enough color and variety. Too many evergreen trees.
Both are beautiful! I like the cottage but would recommend asking the owner of their preference. Thank you for the beautiful thinking and ideas.
Love both designs. Personally, #2 is more my style cottage garden. I do think for this design though with the pool, #1 Grand Garden is going to be a beautiful choice. If there was an incorporation of a fire element in there that would be even more amazing. If being more amazing is even possible.
Garden #2!
Wow this is amazing! Do you take clients for designing like this? I would definitely pay to get a plan for my yard 😍
Both are stunning, but my vote is for number two. I love that it creates fun little nooks and crannies to explore. And has already mentioned, you get more use out of the space.
Also, would absolutely love for you to help me design my front yard (and even my backyard)! I’ve been trying to get my husband on board with ditching the grass in our front yard and letting me use it to garden. He thinks it will look ugly in the winter. But, with your help/inspiration… I just might be able to convince him. Loving your channel!
I’ve fallen in love with your channel! I would love se ideas for a tropical cottage garden. I live in the philippines and would love to achieve that wild, whimsical look in our climate.
A small pond I would like to have in my backyard which will be or almost already is fully landscaped so it’s just leaving the pond in maybe moving stuff I can send photos
Love your channel. Im Brazilian (where everything grows easy) that moved to Scotland, and now struggling to design my new big garden in this cooler environment. If you consider doing more videos like that, I'm the first in the queue 😂
