I’m not sure I understand this post. Is there a question? Do you want a growth regulator recommendation? Is this a review of a growth regulator?

  2. Whisker-biscuitt

For what you’d spend on a growth inhibitor plus possible mixed results, can you find a neighborhood kid who might cut your lawn for cheap occasionally?

You need to look at Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs). I’ve never used such a product, so can’t help you there. But I’ve heard that once you start using one during the season, you have to continue to regularly apply the product (until you no longer wish to use it) or you can damage the plant.

I’m over here trying to get extra growth and you’re trying to slow it?!?

This is what people in this sub never talk about. Having a great looking lawn and keeping it at a consistent length requires so much fucking mowing. Oh you wanna mulch? Have fun mowing 3 times a week. Oh you want those lines looking fresh? Well get out there and mow buddy. You can have a great looking lawn and mow once a week. But if you want it to look like in the picture well too bad, get out there and mow my guy!

  6. Check out T-Nex and go from there with Plant Growth Regulators.

That’s the cons of having a good lawn my guy. Once summer sets in it won’t grow as fast…

  8. I used Primo Max regularly last year. You need to spray it on. When I would spray it I would spray it at a half rate mixed with urea. Usually enough urea for .2 lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet. This helps with the temporary brown tip look a pgr can make when used alone. I will say this though, when I used plant growth regulator my lawn was Frozen in time for 2 weeks. Which can be great but also if you have imperfections can be frustrating. Using PGR’s on your lawn isn’t like buying a bag of Scott’s and throwing it down. You need to do your research first. I read about it first on lawn care forum, they had a ton of good information there. Good luck and your lawn looks fantastic friend.

T-Nex is expensive but it’s a PGR that will stop it from growing and keep it looking good.

Drop that maintenance schedule though, big dawg

I have the same problem. I left last Thursday for Memorial Day mowed on Wednesday and when I came back on Monday it filled 3/4 of my garbage can.

  12. Primo MAXX is what I used for the first time this year.

I mean this in the most respectful of ways.

    FUCK YOU OP 🙂

Top work , this is the stage we all dream of getting to with our lawns.

  14. The best product will be patience until it gets warmer

  15. Dingo_Party

Coffee, beer, or whatever you need to get your ass out on the mower more often /s

Tnex is a quality PGR…but be careful applying them. They can seriously stunt growth, in a bad way if applied incorrectly. Worst case is overlapping and having some sections that seemingly never grow….

  17. Remarkable-Low7953

What kind of mower you using?! Looks damn good

  18. UncleBenji

Slow… growth?! Two words I never thought I’d see together in relation to lawn care.

  19. Working-Mine35

Another vote for T Nex. PGRs are great! Use them on shrubs as well if needed. Once you start you will need to apply every 30 days until normal growth slows from environmental changes. If you stop, you will get a huge surge in growth that will be problematic.

I just have pro turf spray it once early spring, once right before summer and once mid summer.

  21. BrutalGoerge

If you use growth regulator I suggest you start with the minimal application rate, maybe even lower and cut the grass within a day of applying. You can definitely cause some brown tipping if you don’t ease into it, but once you get the hang of it, the results can be great, not just less mowing, but greener, thicker, and less seed heads.

Having the same problem here in the South…so much rain. The lawn looks good but it’s a bitch to maintain. Need to cut almost twice a week. I’ve got Bermuda fyi

  24. Damn this thread is such bullshit lol. Any other problems I can help you with? You got too much money? Too much food? Just lemme know…

  25. Nightblood83

You can use plant growth regulator. I’ve not taken the plunge but it’s supposed to be good to slow vertical growth
