  1. What are you planting this month? As always, we'll be reading the comments! -CaliKim & CameraGuy

  2. Great info! I'm planting zucchini and cucumbers. Our guinea pig loves them. Question: I grew several sugar baby watermelons last year. Although they were 6 – 7 pounds, most of it was rind. They were sweet, but there wasn't much to eat. They were in full sun, received fertilizer, and water. Why were there so much rind? What did I do wrong?

  3. Do you have any problems with caterpillars 🐛 I had problems with the deers they butchered my garden overnight, so I covered everything with a net and now I have small caterpillars on my plants 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️

  4. I’ve started Meadowfoam (Limnanthes) and baby blue eyes (Nemophila) plus others in a wildflower lawn. It’s a bit late planting this week here in NW Oregon, but I think they’ll do fine we only just now hit 80F days and it’s going back down already to mid 70s. I just hope we don’t get a surprise 100F come July like that last 4 years. I think you can do those in winter in San Diego native to California and Oregon. The Meadowfoam (poached egg plant) I have already blooming in a greens bed the insects love it.

My scarlet runner beans are blooming just today. I planted a bit early due to leaving for vacation and they survived the only 37F night. Planting more with blue morning glory to hopefully cover my porch.

  5. I’m very excited to be trying mini cantaloupe and bush watermelon. So far so beans are a big fail. But still trying. 🙂

  6. My favorite time of year It's light out for 2 hours after I commute home! I believe the Diva seeds I direct sowed 2 days ago came up already! Cosmos & Zinnia my easy favorites. (Strawflower & Cornflower too) I'm hoping for industrial scale bean production (protein & fiber) …..hi MAC! ❤
