Zucchini flowers have a very short timeframe for pollination. They open in the morning and close in the afternoon, and they don’t open again. Without bees, the fruit will not form. You can manually pollinate them to ensure you get a bountiful harvest.
Here are the simple steps:
Take a male flower and gently peel off the petals to expose the pollen anther.
Gently brush the pollen over the stigma of a fully opened female flower.
Optionally, after a few hours following pollination, you can harvest the flowers to make a delicious omelet. Check out my short video on how to make a yummy zucchini cheese omelet.
