I just got her last weekend and she was thoroughly watered by the nursery and sopping wet when I got her. Itâs been a week and Iâm wondering how to k ow when to water. I have 30+ house plants and have tried with SOP and string of tears and I cannnnooootttttttttt keep them alive. This is a variegated SOP, and she was so cheap I had to try again. Please help.
Also when I got her she had these dried up pearls, what does this mean??

You see the little translucent âwindowsâ on the pearls? I use them as a guide to know when to water. When they are open, it means the plant is fine. When they are closed – you will see the pearls shrivel a little, they will be soft and not firm to touch, the translucent gap will disappear – thatâs when you water. I would ignore or pull out the damaged pearls and definitely not take them as a sign of underwatering. The plant looks great!

Random dried out pearls usually means pests. I would check carefully.
