After seeing the photo of Sylvia Camarillo-Uthus’ agave plant in the May 17 edition of the Champion, Chino resident Jean Arriaga submitted a photo of her 18-foot-tall agave plant in full bloom, with her husband standing near the plant. Mrs. Arriaga said the stalk started growing in December. The flowers indicate the plant is at the end of its life cycle and will drop seeds that will generate new plants.
