This came from a well lit part of the house with indirect bright sunlight, and cut with a large node. Has a bunch of aerial roots throughout the whole system. I’m so determined to keep it alive so please let me know what i should do!! (So far no watering habits since it’s a cutting and I’m not sure what size pot to put it in once it develops roots)

I have no idea but I hope someone can help you. How cool you got those cuttings!
I have no true idea what to do with a cutting this big but putting it in water is what i do for my Smaller cuttings
I prefer to root my cuttings in leca and I find it works really well for monstera cuttings. I would chop it up in as many pieces as you have leaves, making sure to cut between the nodes. Each piece should have one leaf and at least one node. Put it in a bright spot, keep the water level up.
Well it looks like its already got some chonky roots coming off the stem-those are what you want in the water.

These are good directions. I’d honestly make that into 3-4 cuttings.
There are so many aerial roots that are perfectly aligned, meaning you can let the butt callus and then place the stem ON TOP of the soil and bury the aerial roots. I’m lazy so I dab a bunch of cinnamon on the wound and cover with wax, but cinnamon alone usually has no issues from my experience 🙂
Do not barely the stem or leaves because they hate that and will stop growing!! Definitely use a pole to help it stay upright until the roots take hold
Those brown things hanging out of the jar at the roots. Those are what need to be in the water.
When was it cut? Hopefully you waited until the cut was dried before putting it in water or it may rot. Feel free to message me. I’ve had a giant monstera for about 10 years and I’ve propogated and given lots of cuttings away over the years.
you need to put the brown long parts in water !!!!!!!! those are roots
You have 2 options; give every cut time to callous and go direct to soil, or go to water… I’ve found water to be WAY easier… after dealing with a pot of soil vs a vase with water, I love the water option… just a bit more forgiving and has been easier for me to deal with…
If you wanna go the water option I’d cut the main sections in half ( ie. two containers of water) and trim down the aerial roots so they’re a reasonable size to stick in a container…
Let everything dry and callous for a few days in open air so it doesn’t immediately start rotting, then put in a container of water… I keep the water water topped up, then empty and refresh with a fertilizer mix ever week or two… new water roots will start to form in a few weeks. Once the new roots have secondary roots you can transplant to soil if you wanna go that route.

I know it’s not but it feels like a dead body in the back of your car. Great roots, gonna be hard to screw this up!
Couple of saved coffee grounds diluted in water to fertilize every few weeks will make it very happy
