Have anyone else's lupins been growing really well this year? I planted all of these from seed last spring and this year they've shot up surprisingly.
Everything else in the garden is infested by aphids but the lupins have so far been spared despite being plagued last year. If only my roses were doing as well…they seem so far behind even with weeks of sun!
Alas, I went to deadhead some of the lupins this morning and found that a few had collapsed – I'm not sure if this would be from the heavy rain/wind last night? Do people generally support these plants and if so, is it just a case of tying up individual stems?
Thanks

I am keeping all of the slugs in my garden to protect your lupins. They look great!
Cut the fallen ones and put them in a vase.
You coyld support with some kind of fence, not sure how well they’d look tied up.
Wow these are stunning! I’ve never had to stake lupins… could those have been trampled?
Beautiful! I’m still learning about border design – how many separate plants do you have here?
They look stunning
Sleeping on the job eh! Lazy lupins
Wow, they look fab! I’ve given up on lupins – they’re magnets for huge, grey coloured aphids. They made the plants look like they’re armoured!
Absolutely gorgeous- I so love lupins but so does my slug colony – mind you (saying this very quietly as not to jinks it) but there doesn’t seem to be too many slugs this year!!
Wow absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing

Your money or your life?

the rain also flattened mine! there’s three that snapped but have tied the rest up to the drainpipe and my mum assures me that should be sufficient (first proper garden and these were left by the previous owners!)
