    OP, is the soil in your yard mostly clay? Our last home had very clay based soil and every time after a hard rain it would literally make “slurpy” noises similar to this.

    Whatever they are, they’re sure happy you’re watering them.

    Could be springtails or other tiny critters reacting to moisture. Totally normal and harmless, just part of healthy soil life!

    Probably a frog. They make sounds when there is water, like rain, for mating.
