  1. Bee keepers should consider local ordinances where they reside before adding a hive to their property. We discovered that, tho we have garden & trees & some space, we are too close to neighbors for a successful bee habitat😢
Our Bee Garden will help local native bees… its what we can do. Thank you for the lessons, Luke!

  2. I would love a video on small home bee keeping for my small homestead 16 acers. We have lots of fruit vegetables and flower gardens but bees seem to be complicating and expensive. I would love advice. I always look forward to seeing your videos.

  3. I bet I'm not the only one thinking you're super man of gardening, if he was real that is… Love you videos and all the knowledge you share openly. Thank you !

  4. I watch these two gals do bee saving on YouTube. Dressed in shorts and sleeveless blouses and the like. Me? I'd wear the suit and duct tape the seams.

  5. I'm a hobby beekeeper in Alberta. I'd say to make the stands taller…if you have skunks in the area. The skunks come at night, tap tap on the front of the hive and when the bees come to see what that it, the skunk catch and eat them. Have fun with your bees…it's so much fun! Looks like you're having the same weather as us right now. But the bees are still working in our rainy weather…little break from the rain, and out they go!

  6. Yeah I am looking into keeping bees to help pollinate my apple trees. Would love to see more be keeping stuff!

  7. Wow! Expanding in leaps and bounds! I'm here for it. I can't have bees as I live in town and the city sprays for mosquitos, thus killing the bees. With that said, I would still watch your videos. 😊

  8. We used to get a grid insert, called a "queen keeper" that would keep the queen from the upper supers and the upper supers for honey production. But, it takes some time and "pressure" to get the workers to completely fill out the frames, so you sometimes only get 2/3 of a frame filled with honey with the queen keeper method.

  9. We're getting ready to move out in the country, I am interested in keeping bees.
    Thanks for this video!

  10. Please keep the bee videos coming. As a suburban gardener, I wonder if there are any products for those who aren't necessarily interested in honey production, but just want to encourage bees to build a hive nearby?

  11. Love your garden videos. I learn a ton from you. Also a MI resident. Please keep bee teaching. We have had a small apiary but they died during covid and now we are ready to get back into bee keeping. Thank you.

  12. Hives need to be up higher mainly for critters not bugs. The insects you mentioned, that space has zero effect. That low and you will have skunk problems especially if you don't have an electric fence around them. Watch fred Dunn for more education.

  13. 0:14 only 10 honey bees? Y'all must have plans for an ambitious breeding program to get all those boxes filled with just 10 bees 🤔😂

  14. Even though I will never keep bees, the video of keeping bees on the cheap would be awesome to see. I cracked up when you made the comment about the male bees. That was too funny. I always enjoy and look forward to all of your videos. Sending love to you, the Mrs, children and the awesome work family that help the business to run so successfully. You must have some really amazing employees that give you the support you need. I'm so happy for you, Luke. Keep up with the amazing work that you do.

  15. I love this type of series of videos. I’ve been interested in starting but so much bad info is discouraging. I know we can trust you ❤

  16. Mann Lake is an awesome place for purchasing bee supplies, been using them for years. Since moving to Nebraska I have had a problem over wintering my bees. I would appreciate you covering this topic this fall. Good luck with your bees

  17. I definitely want to see more bee videos! We are starting our first hive here in Clay Twp this weekend!

  18. As someone who is working on establishing his own orchard, I would LOVE to see more adventures in bee keeping!

  19. Would highly recommend checking with your local Amish communities. They build extremely high quality boxes and are way cheaper than Mannlake. Plus it promotes your local economy. Shop local! Love the videos and have learned so much.

  20. You mentioned that you would be adding habitat for native bees. I would like to see a video highlighting the importance of native bees as a follow up video to your native wildflower video. Some native bees are better pollinators than European honey bees.
