A lot of people seem to think that Duke will have a big fall-off next year after losing Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, Tyrese Proctor and Sion James – the entire starting lineup, to sum it up.

Jon Scheyer doesn’t seem to be among them because he’s putting together a killer schedule. He’s already signed up for games with Texas, Michigan, Michigan State, Kansas and Arkansas and now you can add Texas Tech to the list.

Duke and the Red Raiders will play in the Garden on December 20th. Merry Christmas!

The Blue Devils have tangled with Texas Tech twice recently, once in 2018 with Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and company, winning 69-58 and again in 2022 when Paolo Banchero helped Duke to a 78-73 win in the Sweet Sixteen.

It’s a new program under Grant McCaslan though and the guy has quickly emerged as one of the best young coaches in the country. Scheduling Texas Tech, just like scheduling the other stellar non-conference teams we’ll see next season, is a vote of confidence for his team by Scheyer, and that should excite everyone.
