Is this a high quote? It's for a 1 acre lot.

Dude, there’s no fucking way a paver driveway should cost $70,000. That’s what a new pool cost me with a paver patio included lol

  2. SuggamadexRocuronium

Massive amount of work and labor. Doesn’t seem unreasonable to me.

  3. Ricka77_New

    This can’t be real…lol

Irrigation is way high.. But $70k for driveway? Pavers or not, that’s ridiculous..

  4. Competitive_Hall902

I can’t speak to the driveway/pavers but I feel like you are being double quoted for alot of labor since there is alot of crossover in those jobs.

  5. 1sh0t1b33r

I’ll do it for 69k even, save you a little bit. When can I start?

  6. HeAThrowawayJoe

That’s the fuck you quote. They don’t want it.

  7. Almost cost of a nice pool.

Also translation: I don’t want your business.

  8. Connathon

Do an estimation yourself for materials: materials can account for 65-80% of the total project cost, while labor ranges from 20-35%.

  9. I_Must_Be_Destroyed

lol a seven line, five figure estimate.

  10. Depends on the driveway size. Mine is 200 ft long and probably 15ft wide (45 ft wide at the garages) $70K for pavers sounds like a bargain! Concrete replacement would be thru the roof for me!

  11. willzyx01

For a $70k driveway, I expect it to be heated AND cooled with a push of a button.

And the Planting part, you can do that yourself in one weekend. I’m always amazed by my neighbors. All able bodied 40 year olds hire out, while an 85-year old grandma down the road plants an entire garden herself.

  12. DoontGiveHimTheStick

They think you are ultra rich and it wont matter

  13. V_DocBrown

This is the sucker price. Get 2 other quotes and shred this one.

  14. $7k to clear a plot and plant some $20 azaleas and some $100 shrubs???? The weed barrier, dirt, plants and pine bark nuggets will probably cost you $1500 total.

  15. Comfortable_Try8407

I’d say they don’t actually want the business. This doesn’t seem like a serious quote. That’s why you get as many quotes as possible from reputable businesses.

  16. If System Pavers operates in your neck of the woods get a quote from them as well.

  17. BronchitisCat

    Irrigation – $11,600
    Sodding – $21,700
    Landscape – $7,370
    Pavers – $69,950
    —————
    Total – $110,620

That could buy a whole house in some places. I think if you got other quotes you’d be able to triangulate the silliness of this quote more effectively.

  18. I just got a quote for front and back of my place (for comparison)

Okay I’ll make this simple. For a $70k quote I want a *very* detailed quote and this ain’t it champ. I have no idea if the price is high based on information. I’ve seen jobs that cost 5x that and not be “high”. 1 acre lot could mean a thousand different things depending on cities and neighborhoods. But right off the bat, if you’re quoting me 70k jobs it better be presented to me a much better manner than this. Are there drawings? Blueprints? Sub contractors? What’s the deal? This is a quote from someone who does $2500 jobs normally.

  20. MajorEstateCar

That’s pretty high. People are missing that it involves ripping and replacing an existing concrete driveway, and we don’t know the length of this. If this is 200’ long that COULD be an ok price.

But looking at the other prices, they’re probably 20-30% higher than a fair starting price would be, again, depends on size

They don’t want your business. Get a few more quotes.

  22. Practical-Middle3741

Throw the company name out there…that is ridiculous

  23. QuitProfessional5437

    Sodding? More like sobbing amiright

  24. West-Rule6704

I got a 9 zone, 45 head, 20k sq ft area sprinkler system put in for just under $6k last summer. Albeit in the Midwest, but still seems to be a huge discrepancy there.

  25. draymont_

Everyone is saying this is a fuck you price but the sqft for a lot of the services are missing to truly be able to tell.

Based solely off the sod price it seems fair. $2.3 a sqft (9554/21700) to sod is a competitive rate where I’m from

Pavers I assume are anywhere between $20-$40 a sqft to install so I would assume the driveway is roughly 2000 sqft? Idk FL prices, but I’ve charged this.

Microsoft word estimate is odd though will say that. You should be presented a visual design sketch by hand or cad and have an in-depth proposal.
