Hello, in this video I film a space saving idea that I have been utilising in my edible garden recently by installing small raised vegetable beds underneath my established fruit trees as a method of continuing to grow vegetables and adding nutrient load to my fruit trees such as Avocado, Persimmon, Apricot and Dragon Fruit.
I also film a very large seedling Lucuma Tree which was given to me by Mark from the YouTube channel Melbourne Sub-Tropic Fruits and show the current progress on my dragon fruit collection.
Cheers and Happy Gardening

Those raised beds seem to work well for you where do you get them? That lacuma is next level!
Love your garden. Thanks for sharing
This is great mate, sorry about the knee. Similar thing happened with my lower back delaying a job.
I was going to do the same with some hydroponic veg in a self watering box in coco.
Can’t get over how neat everything in your yard is, it’s what I try mould my yard to as well..wife is more on board if things are neat like that.
In your front yard, how much space is it from fence to garden bed? Mine is about 1.2m and I find it to feel cramped, especially as my trees get larger .
Also, didn’t know the dragon fruit roots would get so big in the soil. Makes me feel bad about having mine in 50L pots 😅 looking forward to finally cranking out as many df as you.
Do you water all your trees from the rainwater tank or have you treated your water? I’m tossing and turning between getting full house water filter or rainwater tank, at least which one to choose first.
Do you have a height limit for your fruit trees? Your avos look awesome
Great tour mate. With you on water – ive given up on our hazelnut as it just cant get enough moisture. Bed set up is excellent with all space used neatly. Hope you feel better soon too.
Do you get Winter frosts in your part of Melbourne? If not, what’s your coldest average days in the Winter months?
12:07 Hi! Your garden looks very neat and organised. What variety is your pomegranate? The fruits hanging from the tree look very ornamental. You must be trimming it very well. Lovely.❤
Awesome Lucuma! 8 years old is ridiculously advanced, especially considering I've heard Lucuma can take ages to fruit from seed. I'm hoping I can eventually get myself a grafted one to skip the wait as it sounds pretty good as a fruit.
Great thinking with the raised beds Paul with mature trees roots dominating, off topic mate noticed your citrus nice and healthy wondering how do treat leaf miner some say the mature tree cope and just put up with it, wondering with your experience…cheers
Loved this video, so good!

Dragonfruit are going well
Love the extra raised bed planting areas 👍🏻
Great idea to use those raised beds underneath the fruit trees, great use of space!
That lacuma is very impressive! Hopefully, you get permission to plant it in that spot at the side of the house 🤞

Great use of space keeping everything neat and tidy.
Lol i loved the fact that negotiations are still ongoing for the spinach bed 😂
