In this week’s video we are continuing my New Garden Design Series at my very good friend Tina’s small garden in Langdon Hills, Essex, England.

Their garden had been rather neglected for the whole of 2024 whilst they’ve had some internal building work done, including the addition of a new conservatory.

They’ve asked me to help them with a complete garden makeover and today you can see Days 2 through 5 of our progress.

I’ve measured the plot, drawn up a scale plan and produced the design which they are both happy with, and in last week’s video we made a start by limbing up the conifers on one side of the garden cabin.

Today we continue limbing up the conifers on the other side, take down all the walls of the raised beds, level out the soil and move most of the rockery stones.

Next, we are tidying away all the broken bricks, over-wintering Tina’s many (many!) garden ornaments anf moving the two large green storage cabinets over to the new utility area by her garage.

I hope you enjoy this garden design series where we will be removing anything we don’t like, keeping the things we still love, and giving Tina & Keith the garden of their dreams 🩷

  1. The rocks under the conifers would look good planted out with hardy Cyclamen ans evergreen ferns. I’m really looking forward to seeing this project develop.

  2. You ladies rock💪🏻. You have a great friendship and it’s shining through on the vlog. The garden transformation is looking 🤩 amazing. So much progress in such a short time. Looking forward to the next installment 🫶. Sipping drinks in cocktail corner, it won’t be long now😂. The hebe needs to go😅, yeah. Is it just me or that mushroom with the rabbit on top is so cute ☺️. Love putting on the ritz music as you both cleared the 🧱 bricks.😅

  3. Thank you for giving me a good laugh, it’s so good to have friends to have fun with. The garden is coming on well. I’ve designed our garden but cannot do it for others.

  4. You can also use those rocks to beef out around the water fountain area.. how fun , another groovy video X well done girls !

  5. Great job ladies! Everything looks really good. Just curious, what is that piece of equipment that hubby is going to move used for?

  6. Hi Janette, you and Tina make me smile 😊. Good call to take the Hebe out. Like you and Tina, I have taken out brick walls and concrete. Its a pain but worth it in the end. 😊😊😊

  7. You and Tina made me laugh! What fun!
Tina's garden is already looking great!
I really got tickled watching Tina feed the birds while you trudged back and forth, hauling the heavy rocks! 😂
Can't wait to see it completed! 🌻

  8. Hi Janette, huge progress! You must have been completely exhausted but so pleased with what you've done. Do you already have a plan of how to fill the gardens or will you just go to the garden centre and see what beckons you? I think shopping for all the new plants will be the most fun apart from sitting in Cocktail Corner and surveying the completed garden of course. Hope you, Richard and Tina all have a great week. Love Bron xx

  9. Hi Janett & Tina , loved your video. What a team you two make. The way you destroyed the wall was brilliant, don't mess with you two.
The garden is looking so much better, your enthusiasm and hard work is paying off. Keep going!
