A gardener was gobsmacked recently after finding an unusual creature crawling through her flower beds – and she could not believe what it grew into. When pulling out weeds, plotting new plants or cutting the grass, we can often expect to find insects crawling around or see squirrels or rabbits run across our outdoor spaces.

But one gardener who was sorting out a flower bed was gobsmacked when they spotted a small, pink creature that people have dubbed a “baby demogorgan” – a killer creature and demon in the underworld, famously associated with the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. She picked it up and took it in – and now, she cannot believe what it has grown into.

The gardener shared what happened on her TikTok page @loveu3689, and the video has raked in more than 36million views. Showing it rolling around in mud, she picked it up, wiped it clean and fed it some milk.

The gardener said: “I saw a little thing in the garden, I picked it up, it was really dirty. It looks like a newly born little rabbit. It fell asleep in my hand. I fed it some milk.”

“I don’t know if it’s looking for its mother…it’s so cute,” she added.

After taking care of the creature, the gardener noticed that it was growing healthily. Hair began growing on its body slowly, and she described the animal as “very obedient”. The animal also began eating grass, jumping on the gardener’s bed and sleeping peacefully in their home.

“I saw a little thing in the garden, it turned out to be a little rabbit,” the gardener said. However, a number of people disagreed in the comments and shared what they think the creature is.

“Excuse me, but this is a baby demogorgan,” insisted one. “No way, that’s a demogorgan baby,” agreed another. ” I‘m so glad I wasn‘t the only one who thought about this being a baby Demogorgon,” added one other.

“I thought it was a mole,” suggested another.

One issued a warning and said: “It’s a jack rabbit and y’all are about to experience a horror movie. I suggest moving out and leaving the house for it.”

One other suggested: “This isn’t a wild rabbit/bunny that’s a pet. I think someone dumped it in your garden.” “This is a Netherland Dwarf rabbit,” observed another.

“I was afraid it would turn out to be a rat,” commented one other. “I would have never guessed rabbit,” said another.

While many people thanked the gardener for taking care of the animals, others noted that the mother may have been looking for it. Sharing their thoughts, one wrote: “My problems is, that I would take care of it, but then start to think about the mother that’s somewhere out there, looking for her baby and never knowing where it went. And that would break me.”

The RSPCA states that you should only rescue a rabbit or hare you see in your garden if you believe it is in danger. It is normal for baby hares to be left alone for long periods of time, even when very young. Baby rabbits will stay in their burrow until they are around three weeks old, so if you do see one above ground before this age, it is likely that they will need help.

The RSPCA commented: “If you find a baby rabbit or hare alone, they might not have been abandoned. Each year, lots of baby animals are taken into wildlife centres by people who want to help them, but often the best thing to do is leave them alone. Animals take better care of their babies than humans can, so we should only rescue them as a last resort.”
