“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” ~Jacques Cousteau

The theme for this year’s show is “Take me to the Beach!” a perfect prelude to those long anticipated summer excursions.  The hours are 10  a.m. – 2 p.m.  The show is free and open to the public.

The club was started 109 years ago with the mission to promote “interest in the culture of flowers by exchanging ideas, seeds, plants and bulbs.” Past Norristown Garden Club president Jill Evans asserts that the club members are dedicated to carrying on the tradition and mission of their founders and each flower show is an extensions those goals. “The flower shows are held to develop interest and educate our members and the viewing public in horticulture and flower design,”

The horticulture sections include perennials and biennials, bulbs and tubers, container grown plants, cut branches and ornamental grasses. The design sections highlight the restorative nature of the beach with categories like “I Can See Clearly Now”, “High Tides and Good Vibes” and “Seas the Day”.  In addition there are educational, youth and botanical arts displays.

This year’s chairs are Ginger Hunsicker and Jane Irvin-Klotz.  They and other club members are hard at work to create a soothing yet dynamic visual vista inspired by sea and sand.  Meet us at the beach on June 14th, 2025.
