ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – At James Monroe’s Highland in Albemarle County, gardeners traded more than just plants, they swapped stories, tools, and tips.

The Piedmont Master Gardeners hosted the event to help locals grow their summer gardens and learn how native plants can transform landscapes.

“Those plants that are native, are native pollinators love them,” Piedmont Master Gardeners Tonya Moon said, “Then so they come to those, and then they, you know, flutter around, and participate in the food cycle.”

The Piedmont Master Gardeners will have more plant swaps and events through the summer.
