Hello i hope all is well , I’m going to clean up this mess and i was thinking maybe i should add another emerald green in those spaces? didn’t know if that would be a good idea, i was told to space them out. I planted these trees 10 months ago.I have about 6 spaced out the same distance, about 2 and a half feet , maybe 3. Should i do it or is it gonna be too much?

It looks better when there is a mix of species in a zigzag pattern than a single species in a straight line. I’d find a nice native shrub species or three to space in between those (planted offset in the grassy area) for visual appeal and wildlife benefit.

If you give me a state, zone, and sunlight exposure I can help suggest options!

  2. Maybe don’t buy anything from Hone Depot? Or buy a shovel and use it to dig up that lawn? Order up some Andropogon girardii and sporobolus wrightii seeds and you’ll save yourself a lot of money and have amazing native grasses to fill that space.

Those trees are adequately spaced as is, sticking another between them would crowd them. If you want to fill the space between in the interim, a tall native grass (big bluestem is a good choice in the US) would be a no-maintenance solution that would not crowd the trees.
