To preface, I'm keeping these plants alive mostly by accident. Was moving these around to clean up/thinking about repotting some of them.. and I found this.

It's made a bunch of tendrils(?), one of which seems to have drilled into the floor. Like, its really in there.

Does it want more dirt? Is it coming for my brain? What's going on?

  1. It’s literally searching for dirt. It went all the way outside to find some.😂

It found more water! Unfortunately, it looks like that shower may have a moisture problem.

it’s an aerial root that went looking for moisture and found some. it won’t hurt to trim it

It’s an aerial root by the looks of it. You can cut these off monsteras and it won’t really matter.

Is that coming from the outside to the inside?

Poor fucker is desperately trying to climb. It wants something to grab onto! Give it a moss pole or a trellis or something after you cut that aerial root

That’s so crazy! Amazing these living things that has no eyes or ears can tell where sun or the ground is at and how can it tell and know that the hole is there and can squeeze threw it

It ain’t hard to trim your plants once in a while. In fact it’s actually easier than posting on reddit…

Look like black mold forming by the window/door. Get that looked at(it’s dangerous and can make you sick)

  16. Dumbbitchathon

The problem is your house has been softened by moisture leakage so much that it can be penetrated by a Monstera root
