Now you have to stop thinking about gas/propane. Think solar. Additionally you could fill holding tanks that could fill with a solar pump with shut off. That way you always have water available.
Don't do what my neighbor did, and pump so much water out of the pond, that the turtles and frogs, dragonflies and everything else that depended on that pond water, died in the heat of summer.
It's fun to help each other. Glad a comment helped you. It's nice to see. This is my plan once the orchard is in. So if you run into pitfalls plz post!

you really should take a day to plan for 'what ifs'. thats a very big operation.
Really cool upgrade and way more sustainable. Hope you keep up the ideas to be more eco friendly.
I'm so glad you did that. It hurt to watch you slog through the mud.
Harbor Freight for the win once again
I'm sure you have gone over this before, but what zone are you in?
I'm doing this right now. Currently digging the pond in a wet area that holds water on the land anyway.
