  1. Some sunflowers tucked in would be stunning. Don’t do passionfruit unless you are prepared to dig out suckers which will pop up in the ground and even in the beds from here to eternity! But it’s also a delicious fruit so it might be worth it to you! ❤

  2. Passion fruit blossoms are supposed to be great for tea for insomnia. But I would probably put in the rose hips

  3. I overplant so often. Even with a couple years experience I never seem to realize just how big some plants will get. And as the soil improves everything gets bigger, faster now. I would do maypop in the front corner, rose in the back corner, and trim as hard as possible every year to keep it contained.

  4. I've been trying to keep my passion fruit tidy since winter and just gave up. We built a pergola for it last year and it outgrew it during the first week of February here when it started coming back from it's late fall prune back. It's currently probably a few hundred first round fruit for the year and 35 ft in all directions down my fence. It already took up all of the 12 x 8 pergola and ran away behind it and climbing my string lights I have hanging over part of my garden. It's doing well in the fence though, I only have to pull a tip back to the fence about once a week and other than that I clip any new growth in 3 sides of the pergola that hang down because it likes to grab my hair.

  5. i think a glider or a porch swing would be lovely in that garden. my hubby hung a porch swing in my garden and i love it. good luck finding the perfect thing for your beautiful garden

  6. This is such a beautiful space! I can tell you that my garden is a bit larger than that, but not by much and I grow a ton of food for my family for fresh eating and preserving. I would probably add winter squash since our family loves butternuts and acorns. I think another thing to consider for your space might be a hibiscus in that corner bed. I'm thinking of Beulah's herbal hibiscus tea, which is one of my favorites.

  7. 💚 The tangerine roses in Arkansas were SO beautiful! Glad you are planting some now in your Tea Garden, which is looking great! Go for the rose in the back (although the Passion Flower is a favorite of mine 😉. 💚

  8. Keep that corner for your rose, and plant it towards the corner of the bed. If it is so robust, it will fill out the bed,and the back can grow over the low fence.
Try find some Sunrise Sunset iris to plant near those orange climbing roses. They are the pastel version of those colours, and have a subtle tangerine fragrance.

  9. Jess, brilliant content explaining what one could plant in the garden space!! When I listen to your content outside, sometimes can't tell if it's your bird's chirping, or ours 😂

  10. Jess, I came across a quote today that made me think of you…
“Tattoos: Because adulting is hard and I deserve stickers.”😂

  11. I love this tea & herb garden is so beautiful. It will bring you & your family much peace & serenity. Be great for tea for insomnia. But I would probably put in the rose hips

  12. Ok am I the only one (OCD KICKING IN) that has noticed the fence panel in the corner, where Jess is thinking of planting a rose, has had to be cut down. Probably because of the double gate on the opposite side, must have thrown out the measurements. Jess please ask Miah, to redo that back fence and put the cut down panel in the corner behind the greenhouse so we don’t see it every time you do a video.
Sorry Miah to add to your ‘honey do list’, but it would drive me bonkers! 🤣

  13. Have you ever tried galangal? It’s in the ginger family, just not quite as peppery, and a little fruity. Since you already have the ginger bed, galangal might be worth a shot! It’s used in a lot of Thai cooking ☺️

  14. For the ADHD brain, I would keep Rosa rugosa back there since the big task in that space will be “gathering the herbs.” Otherwise, rosehip gathering may get forgotten. Also, I would use caution with the passionflower since it propagates itself with runners like mint. 😬😁 I planted mine last summer and new sprouts are already hopping out of the raised bed into the ground.

  15. Rose outside of the fence, as it has an abundance of thorns and while slow to grow young, takes off quickly. Just my POV. It's your garden. Do what your heart wants?

  16. Have your carpenter hubby make a picnic table and bench set? Straight rectangle or round with curved benches. Turmeric? Ginger? Both could do fine and are similar.

  17. I'm in SWFL, so it might not be the same for you guys but the habitat for humanity puts their furniture on sale for memorial day. It's usually 50% off

  18. I grew up in North Florida and roses grew so good. I miss them so much and they don't grow well at all in SWFL. We have "false" roses that are barely a bush.
We grow passion fruit on arbors around here 😂

  19. You were dressed up to go somewhere, loved your outfit green looks good on you, the garden is perfect can’t wait to see what you decide on to ( fill it up) 😂

  20. I love the rooster! 😀 That's awesome! Looks great Jess! 😊
I had to look up that rose to see what it looks like…it's beautiful! I love the color!

  21. I think this was such good advice for any gardener ❤ the raised beds are a smart way to learn what grows in your yard , and how to figure out what works for you 😊 I’m loving the way it’s all coming out it’s so pretty and quaint , the roses are going to be so beautiful . This year I am growing zinger hibiscus for tea, have you grown that ? It’s so delicious , also can you grow elderberry? That would be so pretty in that corner ! 😊
