Just finished cutting out the sod against the fence and adding the boxes/steps this past month (other two boxes were laid in spring 2023). Next I’ll fill around the new pathway with pollinator flowers🌸

It’s a long process, and there’s always more to be done but I try to appreciate the progress instead of tirelessly rushing things. We’ll probably continue digging up sod and expanding the garden again next Spring.

Looks fantastic! It’s inspiring to see your progress. I noticed the pics of the dead turf. Did you solarize? If so, are you solarizing one area, converting it and then moving on to solarize the next area or doing the whole lawn all at once?

I have nearly an acre of weeds parading as an ugly lawn that I’m trying to put together a plan to get rid of. There’s so much to do, it’s overwhelming.

Also, side note because I think it’s funny: we always get crap from friends/family about our dandelion lawn, and although it’s never really bothered us (the lawn or the comments), we always blame it on the previous owners, and truly believed it. Only today I learned, by looking at these ‘before’ photos, that we’re actually the ones at fault 😜
