I inherited this 15 year old dracaena and it is my baby. I’m in love with the look of this plant.
Well… the plant was split into two and repotted, the other half is with my parents and thriving. When I first watered the plant I guess I did a bit too much or maybe it wasn’t ready.
The plant started yellowing leaves, fungus, gnats, and now has mushy stems on 2 of the stems. The soil took SIX weeks to dry out.
When I realized it wasn’t drying I changed out some of the soil for dry, aerated it, I was babying the shit out of this plant. The plant is in a south and east facing room but is far enough back from the window.
Am I doomed? Are the mushy stems goners? HOW DID ONE overwater do this?!?! 🙁

I am so sorry but if there is stem rot, those stems are goners. I would unpot, remove all dead roots with sanitized shears/scissors, dip the roots in hydrogen peroxide, and repot into fresh substrate.
