A butchers based at a popular garden centre has been shortlisted for an award.
Bradley Fold Garden Centre Butchers and Deli has been nominated for the Bolton News Best Farm, Deli or Butchers Shop.
The butchers and deli, which dubs itself “champions of the North West”, supports local farmers by sourcing its meat locally.
Its beef is from Bury, its lamb from a family member’s farm in the Trough of Bowland, its pork comes from Cheshire and its chicken has the British Red Tractor label.
Meat from the butchers is even used in the garden centre’s cafe as well.
The butchers can also cut and dress the meat to customers’ tastes, such as diced, minced, skinned, tied or prepared in a particular way.
They dry age their beef to make it “extra tender and tasty”, and will age customers’ beef for as long as they like, for example.
In addition to the range of fresh meat, they sell ready-to-cook meals, plus cooked pies, sausages, burgers and kebabs to be enjoyed at home.

The deli stocks a range of locally sourced food, award winning suppliers and international produce.
All pies and meals are made in house by their chefs and butchers. Its bread is delivered daily from a local bakery and the cheese from different suppliers mainly throughout Lancashire.
Cakes and other sweet treats are all baked in house daily.
There is also a food hall with “a little bit of everything”, including fruits, vegetbles, frozen goods, beverages, jams and more.
The butchers and deli opens from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday, and between 10am and 4pm on Sundays.
Bradley Fold Garden Centre is a family-owned business, providing a range of both practical and beautiful products.
