  1. Is Kick him back allowed on this sub? Asking for a friend…

You mean the neighbors kid is getting kicked? I 2nd this

“Kick the kid” jokes aside, I don’t know if there’s anything to do except maybe try to propagate the top that was kicked off and see if you could plant it. You could live with the damaged plant or replace it.

Also, I would be all up in the parents’ faces about paying for the damaged plant.

  4. I would have a talk with the kid’s parents for sure. That’s sooo not ok.

  5. Lol I had neighbors whose kids would f with my succulents. They moved recently and I’ve been so relieved. God bless, good luck. Hopefully they leave. The good news is the stress will make them sprout

No worries the bottom part will grow new babies. Put the part the got kicked off to callous. Place in dry soil to propagate. If you are going into summer I would keep it in the pot but if you are heading into winter I’d place it back in the ground.

You should be able to propagate the top and the bottom should start some new growth in its own

I respect your mulching. Looks good.

Do you happen to have it on video of them kicking it? Im curious to see it LOL

“Some people have never been smacked in the face and it shows” now I’m not saying kick the kid…. buuuuut is probably kick the kid

  11. Let’s chat with the neighbors about respecting everyone’s stuff.

A lesson that I’ve learned many times. If you’re going to plant street facing (no barrier between street and pedestrians), plant deterrent plants. Stuff that even the most mischievous kid or asshole adult wouldn’t mess with. For succulents : agave , and cacti. Non succulent: spiky roses like rugosas etc.

Now if that’s inside your property with a wall or fence, that’s trespass and property damage if you have cameras. Obviously since it’s a kid you probably should let them off easily.

This plant can be easily propagated from the stems! I recommend looking up videos cause any written explanation wouldn’t do it justice. Then maybe just put up a sign saying something like “smile you’re on camera”. Even if you don’t have a camera it may dissuade the culprits

Just a head’s up, if the kid gets away with it and isn’t reprimanded for it, this can happen again. You need a deterrent. Maybe set up a camera in your front yard facing this area.

Plants and tree law is also pretty serious, I know this may not be a big enough deal to you to start something with neighbors but, just in case it keeps happening, I would look it up.

That being said, from past experience, the original plant will sprout several heads soon in the future from where it was beheaded. For the head that was knocked off, wait a couple days for it to callus over, then place it on soil so the roots will begin to grow.

Talk to his parents and ask if they would be open to having him plant you a new one and apologize to your face.

That neighbor’s kid is probably gonna be some kind of criminal. Keep an eye on that little shit stain!

Had a similar incident but instead of a kid kicking it, had furniture delivery people trample mine. I didn’t do a thing besides being furious and within just a couple weeks new growth emerged on the part where the head was chopped off. Now it’s even fuller!

Do you have a wall/fence separating your garden from stupid kids?
