GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The annual Friends of Waccamaw Library Garden Tour is this weekend in Georgetown County.

It’s a self-guided tour of seven yards and gardens throughout the county.

The Blue Whale Farm in Pawleys Island will host a picnic, and native plants will be available for purchase.

An expert will be giving tips about caring for plants and flowers in this environment.

Plus, you can get ideas of things to do in your own backyard.

“I think it’s an opportunity to see and be with other people that appreciate gardening. Not everybody’s a master gardener, but everybody in this new environment, if they moved here as newcomers, have an opportunity to learn a little bit about soil and sunshine and flowers and humidity,” said Lee Brockington, Friends of the Waccamaw Library.

The Waccamaw Library Garden Tour is Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Tour begins at Waccamaw Library to pick up your wristbands.

You can buy tickets at the Library or click here to buy them online.

Proceeds benefit the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library.
