I did this and i don't know if it was too much, i am new to owning succulents and cacti. if i don't do it again, i think it will recover am i right? I usually water with 1/3 or half a cup of water each time and let it dry out before watering again. it has holes at the bottom and well draining soil. it is indoors and is given indirect sunlight from the nearby window and a lamp i own. I am going to buy a grow light for this guy soon. More advice or tips would be helpful!

Hello, usually succulents like to completely dry out before watering again. I wouldn’t be worried about measuring in cups. It’s mostly important to make sure the roots get a good soak and then let it completely dry out again. With my aloe, I typically bottom water it until the soil is saturated and then let it dry out before repeating! (Keep in mind this is in a well draining soil)

If it’s well tdaining then it shouldn’t matter if you put a gallon of water, or a half a cup of water. What’s more important is that the soil is drying out in between and the plant is getting enough light

Overwatering is not about the amount of water but the frequency.
