If you’re struggling with heat I highly recommend a good exhaust fan. I am new to greenhouses and didn’t realize the importance of air flow. This fan lowered the temp by 25 degrees! Combined with the intake fan as well.
Yeah, absolutely. “Passive airflow” is just what most greenhouse kits offer because it’s easy for them to build it in. But it won’t keep acceptable temps in a greenhouse once daytime outdoor Temps exceed 60-70F on a sunny day. You’ve gotta force air through, or else you’ve created a solar oven.

I found a white shade cloth does wonders for reducing high temps.

Adding again for emphasis…Shade cloth…

If there’s a way to add more peak vents, that will also make a big difference by letting the accumulated hot air out.

I have a 10×12 and so far this year it’s taken shade clothes, fans in the door and back vents, an inkbot with hum and dehum, and installing a cheap misting system from Amazon to keep it under 80.

That gravel floor is just radiating heat too. Maybe lay down some white ground cover fabric

I have also seen some cool tech that uses a “wax piston” that will automatically open the windows as the wax heats up to vent the roof. But yeah, depending on where you are at, you might need shade cloth too.
