New earth we bought has mushrooms in it, can we still use it?

    They are typically symbiotic. Mycelia are able to transfer nutrients sometimes better than the plant’s own roots. Basically, mushrooms are just awesome at recycling the dead stuff.

    Yes, you can grow things in the dirt that is growing things.

    Yes, healthy soil (and often too hydrated) spawns mushrooms. The shrooms we see are just the reproductive organs, actual mold/fungi are in the soil.

    Some fungi types have a symbiotic relationship with plants. Fungus makes the accessibility for nutrients and moisture for plant roots easier. In exchange they get carbohydrates from the photosynthesis of the plants.

    So personally I would remove those mushrooms and use the soil.

    I love these funky ones that make super lankey stems đŸ€Ł i had a small pot of soil i put a bag over and misted often, and these long stemmed lankey ones popped up lol
