Someone just posted their beautiful donkey's tail and it reminded me of mine from a few years ago. Anyway, just a lighthearted reminder to the new plant parents that you don't always get it right the first time around. Live, learn and laugh. 🤣

I posted a Burro’s Tail also. What happened to this one? Do they die off after awhile?

Lol that looks like what’s happened to a few of my first ones: particularly the buttons; Ruby necklace and the elephant bush succulent. 🙄

I’m not really getting better with plants, but I have learned to enjoy them while they last and not get too upset when they don’t.

  8. (sigh) New succy mom as of a few months ago. (No memories of those that passed in previous attempts.) I pulled all of my first set from pots yesterday – soft spots in cacti, succulents that I’ve had for a few months now and haven’t grown. The thing I’ve learned (from here and YouTube) is that one sign of death is not the end. In the past, I’d have tossed something with a soft spot. Now, I just cut that out – I’m a surgeon! Maybe it will grow, maybe I totally killed it, but now it’s a science experiment and I love that! 😀
