Repairing my indoor watering hose. This is the Gardener Supply indoor watering hose you can buy here: https://www.gardeners.com/buy/indoor-water-hose-for-houseplants/8592731.html #howtofix #plants #plantssparkjoy #houseplants #plantproducts #nature #garden #gardening #plantlover @gardenerssupply

The other day, uh, sad thing happened. My hose broke. H, I like set it in the sink and it’s a coil hose, so like I think it was heavier than this and it like fell and just fell just right for it to break off. But worry not, I bought a new one already. Um, this was $32 off of zoro.com, which I think $32 beats like $70, I think, for a whole new hose. And then I’d have to rehook up the hose, and I don’t want to do that. However, I did just buy this is from Gardener Supply. I just bought another hose. I’m going to try to hook a hose up to my sink faucet. I was looking at the reviews for the hose and they were kind of all over the place and where I used this hose, it’s hooked right up to a spot that was put in to like under my sink. Bathroom faucet has like a weird looking I just want to see if I can hook it up to that faucet. So, I bought a couple different things in order to do that. and I want to show you how to do it for the average person that has house plants that might want to use this hose but don’t know how to add it to their faucet situation. So, I want to show you how to do this in case this happens to you and then look for a future video of hooking up this hose to a faucet. So, basically at this point this is trash. I also want to go back to the gardener supply situation. I love this hose. I think this is the perfect hose for what I need it for. However, I don’t want to put my name on something and um tell you to buy something that isn’t working. And I don’t like you’re not going to have it hooked up to an inside spot like I am. And I want to know why all these people are saying negative things about it. They were like 10 years old, these reviews. So maybe The hose has improved since then. I also have had this hose for three years maybe. I don’t want to tell you to buy something and recommend something if it’s just not the quality that I seek in a product. It might work for me right now, but maybe your setup it might not work. So, I do want to put to the test. So, that’s why I ordered a new hose. But that’s not what this video is about today. This video is about fixing this situation. So, the original um what do you call this um wand? So, the original wand that this came with um I don’t know, I dropped things a lot. So, maybe it was a me thing. It just broke and instead of buying a whole new hose, I replaced it with this. After searching and using many different things, you can buy replacement wands. However, the replacement part, we need a quarter of an inch. A lot of replacement aren’t a quarter of an inch. So, I purchased quite a few, had to return them because they weren’t fitting on there. So, I’m going to just cut this part off as straight as I can get it. This metal piece I’m just going to reuse. This is what clamps the wand to the hose. So, it has uh like this little screwdriver looking thing. It’s made for a flathead. So, you just want to loosen it up. So, this is actually the exact one that I just had. And you can see I never put this is the old one. I never put this on the tip of it because like I don’t want it I don’t want it to be like what are those things called? Pressure washer. Like I don’t want to pressure wash. Like I need a like a low. I just want it to like drizzle out, make my life a little bit easier. I don’t want it to be spraying out and make a mess inside the house. That’s exactly what I don’t want. So, I never even put this part on. I just left it like this. Rewind. I purchased this and at one point when I was trying to get this into here, it broke. I sent it back. I told them exactly what happened. I apologized. I did purchase a new one. So, that’s the one I hooked up. So, a little key to be able to get this in here. I take my hair dryer and warm it up. I get it nice and hot so that it’s pliable. Right now, it’s like winter into springtime. It’s not very warm outside. You could always just leave it out in the sun to kind of get more pliable. Right now, it’s really hard. I’m going to take my hair dryer to it, get it real warm, and then try to get this in as much as I can. Before I put this in here, you want to put your little whatever this thing is called. I don’t know what it’s called. You want to put that on there before you put this in here cuz this is what you tighten up to make it tight so that this doesn’t come out. Okay. I guess if you don’t have a hair dryer, you could use like a space heater. Hot water. You could probably use boiling hot water. Um, I don’t know. Something to get it hot. I think my easiest thing is using the haird dryer. Okay. So, time is kind of the essence cuz you don’t want it to get too cool too fast. Make sure you put that on before you try putting this in. You do need to be like gentle enough to not want to you don’t want to break this, but just kind of work it onto there the best you can. It is a tight fit. I think this is good. If you can get it up further, by all means do so. But I on my other one, I had it even lower down and it worked perfectly fine. I think it depends also on how tight you make this. You want it as tight as it can get. But this is what’s going to clamp the hose to the wand. And then you just take your flathead screwdriver and tighten it up. This is very similar to how you would fix an outdoor hose. You can buy a kit. Hoses are not cheap. So, like, yeah, it’s annoying to have to fix it after you spent so much money on it, but it beats buying a new hose. And those hose fixing kits are very affordable. Like, probably under $5. I’m getting this as tight as I can. And I think that’ll do it. Yeah, that ain’t going nowhere. put the actual one wand part on and it’s just like this situation and then this thing goes over this. So you put this in here and tighten it. Very simple. Anyway, that is how you change the wand to a hose. Stay tuned for a future video of hooking one of these up to my sink faucet.

  1. Lucky you to be able to use tan water. I have to boil my water before using on my plants. And even then, I try to bottom water my plants to minimize fungus gnats. In the beginning of my plant journey I used Miracle Grow soil 🙄 when you know better, you do better.

  2. Hose clamps are very handy.
I use a cup of hot water to heat tubing/hose so it stretches over then shrinks when cold again.
Thanks for sharing Kass 😊 hows that aquarium going?
