A PRIMARY school in Kempsey is set for a vital funding boost towards the creation of its sensory garden thanks to a Worcestershire social housing landlord.
Platform Housing Group has given £1000 towards the creation of a sensory garden at Kempsey Primary School.
Tracey Were, chair of the Friends of Kempsey Primary School PTFA said: “We are incredibly grateful to Platform for its kind support of our sensory garden project.
“The donation is not only a generous gift but a real investment in the wellbeing of our children.
“The garden will become a special place where all students – especially those with additional needs – can thrive; we are so thankful to have Platform as a partner on this journey.”
Planned for 2025, the sensory garden will be located in the grounds of the school’s new sensory pod and will provide a calm, accessible and stimulating outdoor space for pupils.
Designed to support students’ wellbeing and sensory development, the garden will feature a variety of plants, textures, sounds and interactive elements allowing children to connect with nature in a peaceful, nurturing environment.
The donation from Platform Housing Group marks an important step in bringing the project to life.
Nicholas Richardson, Community Engagement Officer at Platform Housing Group said: “We’re proud to support Kempsey Primary School and its Parent Teacher and Friends Association in creating a space that promotes inclusion, wellbeing and sensory enrichment.
“This garden will offer a vital retreat for children to relax, explore and grow and we’re excited to see the positive impact it will have on pupils for years to come.”
The Friends of Kempsey Primary School PTFA will continue fundraising for the sensory garden throughout 2025 and welcome further community support to help make the vision a reality.
