I STRUGGLED with this. She was one of my first houseplants (I was gifted a plant arrangement at my mom’s funeral). I had absolutely no idea what I was doing (as you can see that pot I had it in was MASSIVE 😅) I almost killed it completely but now this is one of my most thriving plants! I’m so proud. The secret I’ve figured out for maranta is self watering pots. I don’t know why they work, because I have heard that maranta are sensitive to overwatering) but they do. As long as the water reservoir stays having water in it, it’ll take off! In the original picture there are three plants in that pot. The most recent pic has 2 plants in the same pot. I planted the third plant in a regular plastic pot first and it was not growing at all. Switched it to a self watering one and it has given me 2 new leaves in a week and a half

Looks great! I’m super jelly lol. I have the hardest time with these plants. Perhaps I’m overwatering but I never have that issue with any other plant. Marantas be so picky. And I do water with distilled water
I have my own “problem children” plants, but happy to report the maranta isn’t one of them!
Yours is looking great! Glad you found a glow that works!! Sorry for your loss.
I have a few of these now, given to me as propagations. They are doing very well. I hope they get more bushy!!!
Wow, your plant shrunk.
Sure is beautiful and is showing off for you. Offering condolences.
A lot of people struggle with maranthas/calatheas/ctenanthes and I think in many cases is due to their tap water being bad. The presence of chloramine and fluoride on tap water can damage the plant even if the watering is adequate. Filtered water (not distilled, but water that has gone through a carbon filter for example) is the best way to go with these.
