I’ve done both water and soil propping with these guys and both work great, but soil probably produces better roots for cuttings, leaves are better in water. I just use sifted standard potting mix with coarse/extra coarse perlite (one of the only occasions I ever use perlite). Keep it moist and in a bright, warm place. Begonias are generally really easy plants to prop.

They root extremely easily. I usually just use the soft wood from pruning, whack em in a pot and keep them slightly moist.
