The Sugar River Gardeners club will hold its annual Plant/Art Sale from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 10 – just in time for Mother’s Day.
According to a news release, there will be a selection of perennials, house plants, cut flowers in vases, glass garden art, photo greeting cards and more for sale. The event will be located outside St. Andrew’s Catholic Church on the corner of North Main Street and East Harriet Street.
Proceeds from the sale will be used toward the Sugar River Edible Garden Project and scholarships for college students studying horticulture. The Edible Garden Project provides free herbs and vegetables for community members to pick at Harriet Park, Central Park and Hometown Junction Park.
The fresh produce is also donated to local food pantry Badger Prairie Needs Network, the release states.
Everyone is welcome to attend monthly Sugar River Gardeners club meetings and tour local gardens. For more information, visit sugarrivergardenersverona.org or email sugarrivergardenersverona@gmail.com.
