There are some who have already mowed their lawns a few times this spring. However, for others with puddles in their yard, the first mow of the season is underway and that could be dangerous in some locations.
The Danger Of Mowing When It’s Wet
I received this photo from a friend this week who is going to be OK after flipping his lawn mower while mowing the lawn.
“It was a rookie mistake and I guess it is still too wet”, is what he told me after the incident took place this week.
While he was mowing the grass in his backyard, the lawnmower was on the edge of a but of an decline/mini hill. The wet grass and mud underneath gave little traction in an area he is able to mow with no problem in the summer months.
It is just another reminder to take it slow this spring and think before you do the things that you always are comfortable with. We are all getting back in to a different routine after the long and cold winter we just had.
