The first Sundays in the Garden organised by the Friends of Geilston this year was a great success, with over 200 people enjoying sunny weather and delicious baking!

Tartan Harmony choir’s distinctive acapella added harmony to the garden near Cardross which is owned by the National Trust for Scotland (NTS).

A spokesperson for the Friends said: “The garden is looking absolutely fabulous, so much colour and fragrance in the walled garden and so much more to come with the herbaceous border bursting into growth.

“Down in the glen, by the burn, the Siberica Iris are just showing through, competing with the bluebells and the emerging Gunnera.

“We are so pleased that so many people, over 200 visitors, came to enjoy Geilston Garden on Sunday.

“As ever, the garden itself and the gardening team are the stars of the show. Even with so many visitors the garden retains its air of peace and tranquillity with so much of interest to see and enjoy at every turn.”

Other events are coming up soon, including a Willow Weaving Workshop on Sunday May 11 organised by the NTS and a foraging walk with  herbologist Nicky Brownrigg has an interesting foraging walk planned for Saturday May 24.

Details of all events are on the website.
