I acquired many stock tanks recently. This is half of what I have. I already have tons of garden space devoted to vegetables. And I don’t wanna spend a ton of money, buying premium ingredients to build soil for these. So I’m looking for suggestions on affordable ways to use these for flower gardening or to expand my vegetable gardening. I’m also interested in filler material people may use to fill the bottom portion of these to alleviate cost in filling them all. I’m thinking building a living trellis between two of them, but that’s as creative as I’ve gotten with you so far. What would you fill these with and what would you do with them (after flipping them right side up).

I’d use logs, branches, and sticks to start. Then keep filling with leaves and other organic material. After that, soil on top. You’ll probably need to add more as time goes on. The larger stuff in the bottom will break down and make some great fertilizer! I started a tub for carrots since the voles and rabbits thought it was a buffet for them. The voles can’t dig through the metal and it’s easy to fence to prevent the bunnies.
