  1. Question for you Jess- I planted some holy basil seeds. They seem to be on the struggle bus. They are just not growing whereas by other varieties of basil are are prospering. Any ideas or suggestions?
    Much appreciated🙌💞

  2. When I lived I Northern Scotland, Rosa Rugosa was everywhere and in the fall the hips are huge. So full of vitamin C.

  3. We are expanding our little suburban homestead by adding a tea garden this year as well! Perennials will include roses, echinacea, raspberries and lavender right now. We also have chamomile and fever few!

I'm kicking myself in the butt. I received some of the roselle seeds from Josh + Jordyn and forgot to start them early 😅 Iowa will not grace me enough time for a harvest at this point. Next year!!

Here's to a great garden season!

  4. Enjoying your daily visits! I grow and dry most of the teas you mentioned with the exception of ginger and hibiscus. Might give those a try this year. But I wanted to mention that rose petals, chamomile and lavender make a wonder vinegar for a hair rinse. You add the dried flowers to water and sugar and let them ferment. I have waist length white hair and it helps me tame it and condition it to softness. It is also very good for scalp issues.

  5. My garden has a lot of violets in it. I harvest the flowers every year and make Violet Syrup. It’s lovely having a little bit over ice with some soda water. Also nice on Icecream.

  6. I like the hibiscus tea, but I can't really grow it up here where I'm at. At least I don't think I can. So I just end up buying that one. There's this cold brew tea I like that's peach, hibiscus and black tea. It's really nice and refreshing, especially now that we're coming into warmer weather.

  7. No to lavender, but definitely yes to chammomile! I have about 3 dozen starts that I'm planting this week.

  8. I'm liking anise hyssop in my tea. It has an interesting scent. I love touching it in the garden. It smells so nice. It's in the mint family but is not as invasive. It's also a native plant (to some parts of North America).

  9. I’m surprised you don’t grow stevia— it has benefits but it also tastes great and can help sweeten all the other teas—.

  10. I order holy basil tea from amazon and love it….sadly I have attempted to start holy basil with no luck. I was told by a nursery owner today it does not germinate well from seed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. For now will keep growing and drinking my other herb teas. I love the info I get from your channel.

  11. I grew some tulsi last year, was not impresed with the scent or fliavor….is it just me? Im trying afain thus year in better soil.
