Help with the Juniper please-should I prune it?

Not sure if I should prune the dead parts of the Juniper..we are based out of Calgary and when we moved in almost 2.5 years ago,the entire bush/shrub was dry and dead..I wasn't sure if it was the weather or it had not been watered… watered it for 2 years and some of the dead branches came to life.. Since it grows so slowly,I am not sure if the rest of it will come to life as well….any suggestions please? Any other ways to care of the juniper plant? Thanks in advance..
