  1. Hi LAURA, I love it when you share planting with your mom and your sister. It’s just so enjoyable. I love the roses. I paid attention to how you were planting the bare roots cause I planted them this year and that’s exactly what I did so hopefully they will do well. I have two David Austins myself, but both of them are climbers. I have a lady of shallot and I have another one. I can’t remember the names of! Isn’t that awful , I just planted them two weeks ago anyway absolutely delightful. Your mother is a blast. Maybe we can get a tour of her garden and Monica’s soon soon. That would be nice. Love your space. It is coming alongso quickly and so beautifully.
Absolutely love to hear the kids playing in the background what fun you are creating more memories than you know

  2. Love your channel. But I'm having problems every few minutes it starts spinning trying to keep loading your channel I don't understand it has never done that before and none of my other channels are doing that. Has something changed with your downloading or is it on my side?

  3. Wait?! I don’t have to remove old roots from my planting holes? I always thought I had to clear out roots and rocks 😮. I joke with my husband that I must be a rock magnet because every hole I dig has huge rocks, very much a rock garden here in CT. Lol

  4. Oh Laura, Chimichurri Sauce is a good way to use up a lot of parsley. I'm like you. I usually don't care for it but it's great in the sauce and you can store it in the fridge for awhile.

  5. Proof of life! I was wondering how Susan was doing with the Spring busyness. Always a pleasure to see you and your mom at work on her property.

  6. I think one of my favorite parts of your videos is watching Benjamin and Samantha enjoying an “outside’ childhood. We had a place for our kids to display their finds….butterfly wings, feathers, bones, pretty rocks. I was always going to get one of the lawyer bookcases for their finds but never got around to it. We would just put the items on a dresser in our entryway. I believe it’s in the book Little Men where they talked about having a “ natural science museum” which was a place to showcase the children’s finds.

  7. Reminds me of putting the hip joint back together from a ham when I was first in nursing school and groooosssed my family out so badly!!

  8. So fun to hang out with your Mom and see her gardens! Can’t wait to see those roses in bloom🩷what a lovely day 😊

  9. Bleeding hearts are my favorite perennial. The kind I have are fern leaves and bloom all summer.. Love all the info I get from watching your videos.

  10. Haaa. ey in obey and ey in key. Blast from the past. I saved all of our Abeka sound cards so that I can teach my grandchildren to read. I miss those years of reading practice and reading aloud to my children. Precious times.

  11. So pretty in your mom’s garden, Laura!
I’m curious how those rock walls are built. Are they cemented in as they’re being stacked?

Thanks for the pretty tour. I love the forget-me-nots and really, all of the garden. Also, good tip about the “Sucker Stop” – I’ll look for that product.

  12. Love your mom! She is such a sweet, happy person. Susan, you have created such an inviting, calming space. Love your gardens. Perfect for relaxing. Laura, hope you're feeling well, can still hear your cold. all the sunshine you're out in should help you too.

  13. Such a lush and beautiful garden! The virginia creeper vine above the newly planted roses was a surprise to me. Is it common to use virginia creeper as a garden vine in this area of the country? In the southeast, it is common, but more so in forested areas.

  14. I just love your mom's garden. It always looks so green, lush, and well taken care of. Thank you for sharing your time spent in her garden, as well as your's.

  15. From the Netherlands to your mom, you did an amazing job to raise your children. This can only be because you are a wonderful wife , mother and grandmother a example for all of us. And i know you'r not perfect. Nobody is😊

  16. Xtool is a good engraving and cutting machine I've been working on charcuterie boards and pins and such for a small business I've been trying to start

  17. I have a Lebanese backround and we have many recipes to make use of that much parsley.
Put them in bunchs using rubber bands. Cut very tough ends and discard. Wash and dry them by shaking the water off and placing them on a kitchen towel until your ready to use.The rubber bands help them stay in bunchs. Cut as fine as possible and add tomatoes, soaked finely ground wheat , lemon, olive oil and salt. You'll have the most amazing tasting Tabouli.
Best eating along side some grilled protein like lamb or chicken kababs.

  18. I wonder if it was rose rosette disease. It has run rampant here in TX. where David Austin America is located. I’ve been told it started with knockout roses.

  19. I jumped on Evelyn when Dabkd austin sent the Email, i asked to be notified when it was instock again, i names my first girl Evelyn and im so happy to have gotten a namesake! And a beautiful name sake at that!

  20. I harvest and freeze my parsley, so I have it for use all winter. ❤ Delicious in potatoes, salad dressings, and soups.

  21. What did you have to do to remove the lilac so that the runners wouldn’t pop up? I have one in my garden that is no lounger in an ideal spot and would love to replace it with a Redbud. I’m just worried the runners are going to stick around forever. Any tips would be amazing!
