My pink princess has been trying to push out a new leaf for a while. Today I noticed the petiole looked like it was about to snap and the leaf was still stuck in the sheath. I tried gently helping the leaf out and ending up snapping the stem anyway 😩
Imagine my dismay when I unrolled it to see it was going to be the most beautiful half moon leaf I’ve ever had.
If you’re reading this I hope your day goes better than mine! Hahaha

I feel this! I snapped the roots off a unique type of ficus I’d been propping for literally SIX months once. I was devastated. But…true to nature, it grew back. And surprisingly quickly!
I’ve done this more times than I can count 😭. Just leave it alone, let the stem of the leaf continue to grow and eventually another, potentially smaller leaf will unsheath itself. I did this to my white wizard, pink princess, silver sword AND MY FLORIDA WHITE GHOST PHILODENDRON MORE THAN ONCE TO EACH BECAUSE IM IMPATIENT AND THOUGHT I COULD HELP. I have since stopped even looking at them until I see the soil is dry. They’re all bouncing back.
