Organic chicken raising, growing food and garden to table.
This video shares the essential steps to raise healthy, thriving organic chickens from chicks to laying hens.
Join me for a peaceful spring day on our small organic farm. I care for newly hatched chicks, prepare balanced organic feed with added grower support, and offer daily treats like scrambled eggs. I also bring cold-tolerant seedlings into the garden, clean the foraging area, and end the day with a simple, cozy homemade dinner.
This gentle rhythm of care — from morning routines to sunset reflections — is where I’ve found my own quiet joy in nature’s blessings.
Thank you for being here. May you find peace and happiness in the simple rhythm of your own days.

Welcome to Merryland, a place where life grows gently and happiness lives in the simple moments. I’m so happy you’re here with me. The baby chicks hatching today are Ayam Cemani, Silkie, Sebright, Polish, and Marans. One little chick needed a bit of help to hatch. Her membrane had dried, and without help, she wouldn’t have made it. Every life matters, and even the smallest acts of kindness can change the story. Moments like these remind me – happiness isn’t just found in nature’s blessings, but in every life we help nurture along the way. I’ll let the chick rest and dry inside the warm incubator. Moving some chicks to a second brooder, giving them more space to grow and rest. I always give baby chicks vitamin-enriched warm water during their first two weeks of life to help them grow stronger, build resilience, and start their journey with the best care possible. I use organic chick starter, made without antibiotics, steroids, or GMOs. Every other week, I add B-complex vitamins to their water a simple way to support their health and help them thrive naturally. Yesterday, I moved my grow-outs into their outdoor coop, giving them more space to explore and enjoy the fresh air. First time on grass… I’m giving them a complete, nutritionally balanced organic layer feed mixed with 40% grower feed to support their overall health. I choose not to feed my birds corn, scratch, or kitchen scraps because giving them a complete, balanced diet is the key to keeping them healthy and thriving naturally. Every day, they enjoy a little treat – scrambled eggs, worms, berries, bananas, melons, and sunflower seeds or sprouts, simple gifts to keep them happy, healthy, and full of life. The three Silkies here are around six years old now. Since they’ve finished their egg-laying days, they enjoy grower feed, gentle nutrition, just right for this stage of life. Two Polish roosters are ready for pickup. Wishing them a happy life in their new home. My daily cleaning routine, keeping their home fresh, clean, and cozy. The best fertilizer for my organic vegetable garden. As the days grow warmer, we open some windows to welcome the fresh air of the new season. These simple essentials help my birds grow strong and live joyfully. The days are getting warmer, but the chilly nights still make it too soon for some seedlings to be outside. I placed some store-bought green onions in a cup of water, two weeks later, they’re well rooted and ready to grow. I’ll be cooking a quick and cozy dinner from what I have. Purslane: Omega – 3 rich, wild edible plant. Soy sauce Vinegar Sesame oil Corn starch Homemade lamb skewers Salt Pre-cooked pork Today’s treat: organic chick starter mixed with scrambled eggs. The sun sets on another quiet day – a day of care and nature’s gentle blessings, where I’ve found my own happiness. Thank you for being here. May you find your own peace and joy in the quiet rhythm of life’s simplest moments. Take care and stay healthy! See you next time ❣️

Greetings from the coast of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. Just when I needed to relax I find a new Merryland video. I’m not sure why but I love watching the care you take with your flock. I know you named your peacock ANDY ❤ now my question for you is about the very large all black roaster that you pick up and carry around. I can see you have bonded with him. How long have you had him? 😊
