I’m an idiot. I decided to repot this pothos. I put it in new soil, new pot, watered it, and the fertilized with fish fertilizer. I then left it outside for four hours in the sun. I’m devastated because this is the plant I propagated the day I found out was pregnant and it hangs in my child’s room. I have an emotional attachment to this basic pothos. What should I do?

I don’t know if me commenting will make your post easier to find so someone can help but I’m gonna try anyway. Get well soon you beautiful pothos

Dude Pathos are pretty hardy, wait a couple days, cut the dead stuff off and let her keep going. While you’re doing that, find the healthiest part and prop it.

So sad for ur pothos. Assuming it can’t heal I hope u find something nice to replace it with.

I mean, in this one little strand it doesn’t look unsalvageable. I would definitely pull off the sun burnt leaves, and anything that looks yellow. I can’t tell how long it is, but if it’s really long, it will have a harder time recovering. Maybe you could cut it in half, and the half that you cut make a few pieces out of and put them in a pot together to make it bushy?

While rearranging the furniture in my dining room, I placed a 9yr old Epipremnum/Pothos Golden and two(2) 4yr old Epipremnum/Pothos Neons outside on my North-facing lawn with the furniture. However, I left everything outside for two(2) days while I repainted the room.
The Neons and Golden had blackened leaves. 🥹

I typed all of that to show that it happens, You are not the first and You won’t be the last Grower/PlantParent. Buuuuut… after the sunburn and withered leaves, I MISTed my plantbabies (allowing them to cool down) then set them in cool low-LIGHTed areas to recover for a few weeks, applied Honey and Keiki Paste to the leafless nodes, and resumed normal care afterwards.

They’re rebounding well. I trust that your plantbaby will do so as well……. Epipremnum aureum/Pothos are extremely resilient.

    🪴 Keep Growing! 🪴

  6. I stupidly moved a grow light and didn’t move it back. It was too close to my monstera and left a dark spot similar to what’s on your Pothos. The dark spot receded a bit, and it’s doing fine a week later! I’m sure your Pothos will bounce back as well 🙂

It’ll lose a few leaves but it won’t die.
