And there I was, like every other Friday, come to see the new arrivals. And view the rescue racks. Always looking for something unique.
A few new pilea, an overwatered rare squamiferum, more palms than anyone should ever see outside Miami. All very typical.
On a bottom shelf in the orchid section, behind a few dracaena, I spied this perfect huge Imperial Red. She must have been new, because her soil was dry and her leaves were perfect. Today, I would break my rule of not getting duplicate plants. I snatched her up.
Then as I was about to leave, I cast my eyes to the center section. Something…
There, surrounded by moonlight, was a needle of red upon green. Hmm. I bustled her out from among the light greenery, and behold! A somewhat busted Red Moon!
I almost raised her aloft like The Lion King!
I've been looking for you, I whispered.
As I took my new family to the checkout, I passed the Garden Guy and showed him the Moon.
He slashed the price in half.
'Twas a good day.

That’s a Congo apple. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Wait – did I hear that they restock on Fridays?!?
Omg. Lucky. 😵💫
Is it weird to be happy for strangers on the internet? Congrats on your finds (and discount!) ❤️
No way! A red moon at Lowe’s? I’m getting crazy to find one anywhere.
