  1. When I am trying to save money on my gardening supplies, I shop at farm supply stores for fertilizers and buy from face book market place for building materials. Saves a lot of money! One mans trash is another mans tressure.

  2. That ant bait has been used for generations, my granny would take the boric acid mix with brown sugar and use lids from old jars and sit it around kitchen in pantry and different places.not the safest way to do .Just thought it was funny when you brought it up.😂

  3. Loving my daily dose of my "big sis" Jess! I feel so privileged that we're getting a little more of your time for a little while ❤

  4. We don’t have the money and I’m limited on time which isn’t a good combo but I’ve got plans. This past summer I hatched out some chickens I was going to harvest for meat and ran out of umpf. I chanced into a trade for some reclaimed metal roofing for the chickens so I ended up saving on labor and chicken feed and scored some garden bed building materials!

  5. I agree how easy it is to put these beds together. I assembled 4 beds with 2 of our grandsons their ages at the time were 5 & 3. They started by peeling the plastic then the 3 year old handed my the bolts and nuts while the 5 year old helped me assemble and tighten.

  6. Nice video. Liked seeing Miah’s sister and the boys. Your greenhouse is going to be wonderful with the fence. Hearts and Flowers coming your way. ❤️💐

  7. I had spilled honey on the counter. I put a little spray on it. The ant came within an inch of it , stopped and made a 180 and ran. Outsmarted by a bug! 😂

  8. When I used to do amateur theatre, the set builder told me that you could pick 2: easy, cheap, good quality. That stuck with me. It's great that you are showing this different angle on gardening. Thankfully my husband is quite handy so he builds me things because I am more of a visionary! 😂

  9. Ooh, that's miserable being allergic to fire ants in the south. I'm allergic to bees, but they don't seek out my feet, legs & house like ants

  10. Well I got in some sunflowers today. Some I started and some seeds. I moved so I'm starting a whole new garden. I have plenty of seeds started but I'm having a hard time digging but I'm doing it. Sometimes it seems impossible. I had serious health issues the last 1 1/2 years but Jesus is so awesome and brought me thru it. I do what I can do each day and it will blossom into something awesome I believe. Thanks Jess ❤😊 love you and Toby, you're awesome!

  11. I have a kitchen garden right outside of the kitchen back door and my husband just ran lights from my kitchen garden to my big beds. I can literally garden and pick things at night now! Can’t tell you how in love I am! ❤ I totally get! I currently have my dream garden and it is wonderful. It’s taken 6 years to get this far but so worth it!

  12. Regarding the greenhouse not retaining heat, there may be some solutions for that out there: what might work is using black barrels as thermal mass on the Northern wall (great video about this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPOvAJbchY0&list=PL58NuzMRFCXYAW-6MxD7gWYaGinmAFe_3&index=7). Another option might be a winter heat well: the Centre for Alternative Technology have one in their big polytunnel in Wales, which is built on a former slate tip (which contains air at 5-8 degree Celsius = 41-46 degree Fahrenheit) – this keeps the plants from freezing. You'd need to do some research if that would work in your area though…

  13. Your herb garden is going to be beautiful. I love the challenge. Some day, I will have a few raised beds. I grow a lot of my herbs in pots.

  14. I have been buying 2 needle beds a year for four years. That way I spread out the expense. I also have 3 greens talk planters. This year all my gardening will be all in these containers and raised beds. I had knee replacements in both legs this winter and the raised beds are just easier on my body.

  15. I use the tarro traps for the ants too. My raised bed was getting overtaken by fire ants. I didn't mind as long as they stayed in the corners but they weren't happy with that living arrangement lol. My husband and I would get lit up working in the garden and I was worried my youngest would accidentally stir them up. I put the traps out while I was transitioning the bed from winter into spring. I left the spikes in until I didn't see anymore ants. It's been about 4 months and I haven't seen anymore ant hills. Fire ants are awful.

  16. Toby looks like taken the the job what was Ben doing before. Jess and Miah your boys are truly a blessing. 🫂 to you all. Ohhh and please do not ever lock my Bear in😢. I just love him to bits and need to see him as I don't have a sidekick. ❤
