More and more of the leaves on my lemon tree are begining to get discolored and drop. In the past few weeks I think I have lost about 30-40% of the leaves. It is in a window that gets direct and indirect light, is watered when the soil turns dry (I drench it and let it drain). I thought I might have a pest issue so I have been using isopropyl alcohol and washing the leaves with wet paper towels. The leaves are still dropping what do I do?!?

I found some bumps, some black discoloration, and some webs as well

How long does it get direct light for? Fruit trees need a lot of direct light, so that is my first guess.

The leaves could possibly be being stripped of their protective coating with repeated exposure to rubbing alcohol. I’d suggest using a very diluted soap, or neem oil to reduce harm to your leaves.

As for pests, with the care you’re describing, I wouldn’t think that it would have enough pests on it to significantly harm the tree. It could possibly be fungal, but I don’t know enough about those kinds of issues to give advice.
