What are you doing today? Are you
free? Let’s pla nt seeds together. Yes,   today it’s a very special video because
finally, finally I have a garden,   and now I can grow vegetables and fruits
and herbs and flowers for my garden. Yes, after dreaming about it for years, literally
years, I now have a space where I can grow my own   herbs and vegetables in raised beds and containers
right here in my garden. And you know, this is   such an amazing thing to have a garden. I’m not
sure how many of you have gardens or just like me,   you were also growing your plants and herbs
on the balconies and indoors. But finally,   now I can grow vegetables, I can grow herbs
and everything else. So I’m going to take   you with me as I germinate the very first
seeds for this little garden dream of mine. So yes, after dreaming about it for years,
now finally I have a space where I can grow   my own herbs and vegetables in raised beds and
containers right here in my garden. Today I’m   going to take you with me as I germinate the very
first seeds for this little garden dream of mine. So what am I planting? We will start from
essentials: tomatoes, cucumbers, and basil,   or as we say in Germany, Tomaten, Basil. I’m not
German. Later on, I’ll add more herbs and veggies,   but these three are my go-to favorites
and perfect for beginner gardens. Basically, I really want to plant
different varieties of tomatoes,   different varieties of cucumbers, and Basilicum.
But also, there will be a red sunflower,   some other flowers for the garden, also
different vegetables as well. For example,   I will be also planting some, let me
see, let me think, I think some reddish. But a little backstory first. For years I’ve
lived in apartments with no real outdoor space,   maybe just a balcony. I always imagined having a
little garden where I could grow fresh tomatoes   that actually taste like tomatoes, pick cucumbers
for summer salads, and snip fresh basil for pasta   or pizza. Right now that dream is finally real.
I have a small garden, just around 300 square   meters. It’s not huge, but just enough for a few
high beds and some container gardening. Honestly,   I’m so excited to see what I can grow here. We
even need to build the raised beds ourselves.   Well, basically my husband is going to build
them for me. Several of them we already planted:   some trees, apricot, peach, also different
varieties of blueberries that actually produce   berries in June, July, and August. So this is kind of a choice that you
will have the whole summer. You will   have three different bushes that will
give you berries one after another. And here’s what I will be using. Basically, I
will use these plastic cups from yogurts because   I don’t want to throw them away. They are kind of
serving like a pot. I will just cut holes in them,   put soil in them, and done. So these are
my seed trays as well, again from yogurt   packages, because it will be so easy to carry
several pots at the same time with one hand. And of course, first I will germinate them
in these small cups, and then when they grow,   then I will plant them in the garden. I
will still need to decide who goes where. [Music] And of course, we need seeds, a lot of
them, a good seed starting mix. Basically,   it’s very light and well-draining, and it’s
specifically made for tomatoes and vegetables.   So you can also check any type of soil or potting
mix specifically for vegetables that you can find   in your local stores. I don’t think there is
any difference in them. Well, doesn’t matter. [Music] Come. [Music] Big seeds. [Music] This is purple. So one, two,
and three. Let’s do three each. [Music] This one, look at it. [Music] Wow. [Music] Wow. [Applause] [Music] Wow. [Music] Hey.
[Music] Heat.
[Music] Heat.
[Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Hey. Hey. Hey.
