hey guys welcome back to the real Southern Garden I am Sarah and today I thought we’d take a quick little trip down to Home Depot because they have all of their summer bulbs 50% off so let’s head out and see what they have that we can’t live without okay let’s go all right so here we go at Home Depot and you know I couldn’t believe how many plants that they already have I usually head out to the nurseries um maybe a week before our frost date so like the end of March so this was a little bit early for me but I was pleasantly surprised to see all the beautiful color that they have out they had tons of tulips and high and Sith so if you didn’t get your bulbs planted you can actually just pick up a few that are already growing uh that’s always awesome to be able to do I love that purple tulip right there I planted some purple ones but they have not popped up yet and then of course some gorgeous daffodils and if you buy those of course they are going to reliably come back here in the South for you so they were $6.98 it looks like um for each one of [Music] those then they also had some different shrubs back here and they had some of those inside too and these really pretty yellow flowers really were nice I don’t think I’ve actually seen those before or maybe I had and just had overlooked them and then um coming around the corner I really loved this color Snapdragon and here’s a hint I actually bought some of those and took them home so yeah had to have [Music] them and what’s really nice for me is that in my zone I am Zone 7 B 8ish um the snapdragons come back every year so they’re like they’re shortlived perennials I think they say but I’m going on your three of mine coming back and they had lots of different blueberry bushes already a ton of vegetables and herbs which I was kind of shocked to see because we still have a couple weeks until our frost date um I guess they just take the chance I guess it works out for them MoneyWise but they had a ton of things that you could pick up and what I do is if I do buy a plant like this lettuce or kale or whatever even though kale is pretty Frost hearty um I will put them in containers this early in the season that way I can just scoot them inside if we do get another Frost that’s just a little too hard of a [Music] frost and they had all kinds of lettuce and I’m a big salad eater I could almost live off of salad with grilled meat or something like that on the side um so I do plan on growing quite a bit of leaf lettuce this year and spinach and kale and I’m just about to start it really soon strawberries they have those out if you want strawberries get them quick because they actually sell out of those every year and then they did have their blueberry and blackberry bushes um discounted by a couple dollars which is nice here’s just another shot of all of these beautiful snapdragons and just all the different flowers that they have out so early those tulips are gorgeous I’m loving [Music] them and most of my pansies they had a lot of pansies out here still I made it through the winter which was really nice they also had these little snapdragons um I believe that they were I think they were a doar a piece or were they $1.98 I can’t remember but I’m going to go back and get some of those orange because they’re beautiful and it was a pretty great buy and then we headed on inside to see what they had in there and this Home Depot always has quite a bit of inventory so they had some different landscape roses it’s a front um a bunch of cycl in still on the right side although I think some of those are Nursery cyclen uh they don’t look like the ones that can stay outside I could be wrong but just took a quick glance at them and then just so many awesome goodies [Music] they had a really pretty purple landscape Rose and I forgot what it was called um anyway it was really pretty and then of course they have gardinia they had a lot of August Beauty in thinking about getting some of them some organic raised bed garden soil they have organic at garden tool now they’ve had for a couple years I think but it’s always a great option if you really want to just stick with Organic um I mix it up in my garden a little bit because I figure I’m doing a lot better than the stuff at the grocery store by growing it [Music] myself and then of course they had some great roded denden and zelas I need to get some of those too but I am still researching which ones I want to get it and then the most exciting part the 50% off summer bulbs that they have so these are bulbs that you can actually plant right after our last frost date and they’re going to be blooming for you this summer most of them there’s a few that will Bloom the second year but they were all 50% off and I’m pretty sure if you live in the south it’s going to be the same thing at the Home Depot near you so head out and look at these bulbs because they really have some great options and what I am doing is of course this year I got some dalas I already did get um quite a few and I added a couple more on this trip but I was looking for some other lies to put in my rose garden and um I found some great ones today so if you stick around to the end of the video I’m going to show you exactly which ones I [Music] got then of course we had to check out the seeds inside and I actually got some um green beans and I did pick up some of their winter squash here also and there sweet little Adeline of course she’s along on the trip as [Music] well and then we loaded up the truck and we headed home so I forgot to show these but I picked up these pillows they’re outdoor pillows at Home Depot and they’re kind of The Gingham blue look which is what I was looking for these are going to be on my porch all season long and they were a couple bucks um they were like $5 off and they were a good buy and then also of course here is my snapd dragons the Snap Dragons I bought um when I’m waiting for my other things to come up and to kind of you know get my yard cleaned up I’ll pop in some containers like these all right so let me show you what I did end up getting so these are not bulbs but I did get um these green beans because I want to try these this year from Burpee they’re um I’ve done Bush Lake before but I don’t think they were Burpy but going to do these this year and then my daughter always finds a couple things that she wants as well and I like to encourage her so of course I let her pick out different um different plants she wants to try I saw these blue pastas now from the research I’ve done they’re not really going to stay blue very long in my climate where I live because if you plant these where it’s really hot and it rains a lot in the summer they turn green pretty quick it’s actually like a waxy coating on them that makes them look blue but from what I understand they will look blue for a little while like maybe a month so kind of like my hydrangeas how my incred balls go from white to Green pretty quick but I get a month of them being white fluffy cotton balls you know um I guess these guys are going to be similar but I couldn’t pass them up were 50% off I think I grabbed three and they are the um blue mixed summer bloomy pasta and I think if you lived somewhere cooler you probably could keep them blue for quite some time and I think that would really really look neat and then I also picked up two of I cannot pronounce these um they were also 50% off ax axid Dan there I don’t know how to say that but a beautiful white kind of lily look with a dark Center I’m pretty sure these are lies right they’re lies anyway um I’m going to put these in the Rose Garden and pop them in I think they’ll be really beautiful back there and these will Bloom their first year which is always a bonus in my book all right and then we got some more dalas um these aren’t going to be quite as big I don’t think as the other ones I picked up but that one is a really big beautiful color I think my daughter wanted that one is it called Duet is the name of that one um we picked up some gladiolas they were also 50% off we picked up I’ve been wanting to get some more of these tiger lies because we have a bunch of them in the garden on the side over there and I wanted to add some more of them to the Rose Garden they look really nice ice against our warm toned brick love those and they won’t bloom probably till the second year I might get lucky though they might Bloom this year and then we have another Dalia called is it Kagan I can’t even say this Kain Fu Fuki or something I don’t know guys I can’t pronounce these and then we also have this really pretty pink one that my daughter picked out she actually picked out all the dalas this is called tropical so some really nice things for 50% off and you just can’t really beat that so I’m excited to get these in the ground and add them to the garden thank you guys so much for joining me today hope that you
